Stay Focused

by Chris D'Amico

It is amazing that the year 2016 is here. I am excited to think about the great things God has called us to accomplish for Him. God is moving to fulfill His work in the earth through the Body of Christ. It’s very important for us to keep our eyes on Jesus and avoid all the distractions of the enemy. We have to consecrate ourselves afresh to obey God’s plans for our lives. Hebrews 12:1-2 declares, ” Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin that doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith…”  We have to stay focused on what God has called us to do in His plans and purposes. We must lay aside all distractions and weights of the enemy and determine to move with Heaven!

Follow the Leading of the Holy Ghost
Romans 8:14 declares, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” The Richert Translation declares, “We who are guided by the Spirit are His offspring.” Phillips Translation declares, “All who follow the leading of God’s Spirit are God’s own sons.” As always, the necessity to follow the Holy Spirit’s leading in our hearts is critical in fulfilling God’s plans and purposes for us this year. Without a doubt, there will be many distractions in the natural to get you to go in certain directions, but we have to ask ourselves, is the Holy Spirit leading me to do this or not? Following the leading of the Holy Spirit will be vitally important to success when it comes to moving with the purpose of Heaven!

Maintain a Strong Focus
1 Corinthians 15:58 Johnsons Translation declares, “So my dear friends, do not be shaken in your faith by the threat of death. Hold steady, don’t let anything throw you. Keep doing the Lord’s work because you are aware of its worth now and the reward in the future.” Good News Translation declares, “…stand firm and steady. Keep busy always in the work for the Lord, since you know that nothing you do in the Lord’s service is ever useless.” New Life Translation declares, “…because of all this, be strong. Do not allow anyone to change your mind. Always do your work well for the Lord.”Maintaining a strong focus on what God has called us to do is imperative to following the purpose of Heaven! We cannot allow ourselves to be sidetracked or distracted from the main thing God has placed before us. We can do all he has called us to do with a strong focus on Jesus, the Word, and prayer.

Stay Hungry for the Things of God
Colossians 3:1 New American Bible declares, “Since you have been raised in the company ith Christ, set your heart on what pertains to the higher realms where Christ is seated at God’s right hand.” Barclay Translation declares, “If then you have been raised to the life with Christ, your heart must be set on the great realities of the heavenly sphere, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.” We must keep our hearts connected to eternal things, the purposes coming forth from the heavenly realm. Staying hungry for God and connected to the throne of God, by the Holy Spirit, will keep us walking in the perfect will of God for our lives! Matthew 5:6 declares, “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” Message Bible says, “You’re blessed when you’ve worked up a good appetite for God. He’s food and drink and the best meal you’ll ever eat.” Staying hungry for God will keep us pressing in the right direction and moving with Heaven. Lukewarm is the danger zone. We must stay on fire for Him!

Thank you very much for your gracious support and love toward this ministry. We appreciate you greatly and are believing God that you will accomplish all He has for you this year!
