A New Year Has Come

by Chris D'Amico

As we enter the New Year we are so thankful for all the wonderful things God has done to bless our lives in 2020. Yes was a tough year, but be thankful in all things! A new year has come and greater things are ahead for the kingdom of God and His servants. Regardless of the past, we must focus on a new fresh start in all areas of our lives. God is the God of new beginnings. Always!

God planning only His best for you and your family for this New Year. Isaiah 43:18-19 declares, “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” The Living Bible declares, “But forget all that-it is nothing compared to what I am about to do. For I’m going to do a brand new thing. See, I have already begun. Don’t you see it? I will make a road through the wilderness of the world for my people to go home, and create rivers for them in the desert.” God is in the business of new progress and making a way for us in the circumstances and crossroads of fie. New beginnings are here and a fresh start in front of all of us.

Forgetting and Letting Go of Regrets
We cannot change the past, but we can do something about our future. Remorse regrets over past decisions and mistakes will only hinder you from future progress. God will take all mistakes and turn them for Good if we continue to press toward Him and review our minds. Philippians 3:13:14 (Message Bible) declares, “No, dear brothers, I am still not all I should be, but I am bringing all my energies to bear on this one thing: forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead. I strain to reach the prize for which God is calling us up to heaven because of what Christ Jesus did for us.” We must never live in our past, but always learn from it. Thomas Carlyle once said, “Never let mistakes or wrong directions, of which every man falls into many, discourage you. There is precious instruction to be got by finding where we were wrong.” God is more concerned with where we are going than where we have been. Mistakes are part of life and learning. Allow your mistakes of the past to be a stepping stone to future progress and maturity. God will never hold you to your past if you sincerely seek Him and make proper adjustments.

His Mercy is New Every Morning and His Faithfulness is Great
Perhaps you have been burdened by the past. Make plans right now to focus your entire attention on His rich mercy and great faithfulness. He is the God of new beginnings. What He is planning for you cannot be compared to the greatest success moment of yesterday. His great mercy clears you from the past. He will faithfully move you forward into a better season and day in your life. Lamentations 3:20-23 declares, “For I can never forget these awful years; always my soul will live in utter shame. Yet there is one ray of hope; His compassion never ends. It is only the Lord’s mercy that has kept us from complete destruction. Great is His faithfulness; His loving-kindness begins afresh each day.” He loves you so much. His compassion and loving-kindness is greater than any circumstance and obstacle. Receive that now by faith.

God is Planning Good Things
Determine to believe for good things. He is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all we can ask or think according to His great power within us. You are the apple of His eye. He will never let you down. He will never forsake you. He is planning good things ahead (Jeremiah 29:11-12). Shake off the past and rejoice in the God of new beginnings.

Thank you for your faithful friendship and love to our lives and ministry.
