Remaining Certain in Uncertain Times

by Chris D'Amico

In 2 Timothy 3:1, we get a clear description of the end times, “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemer, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affections, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” The Taylor’s Translation (verse one) declares, “Know this that in the last days it is going to be very difficult to be a Christian.” The Berkley Translation declares, “In the last days there are troublesome times impending.” Goodspeed declares, “There are going to be hard times.” It is definitive from the Word of God that we will face difficult times. We must be prepared and committed to stay in the Word of God and prayer! We must remain certain in uncertain times!

God Will Always Rescue You

Psalms 34:19 declares, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.” The Message Bible declares, “Disciples so often get into trouble; still God is there every time.” Moffatt’s Translation declares, “The good man may have many mishaps, but from them all the Eternal rescues him.” J.B. Rotherham, “Many are the misfortunes of the righteous, but out of them all Yahweh rescues him.” Although adversity and afflictions come to us all, God is well able to rescue those whom he loves that call upon him. In troubling and uncertain times, God is still God! He will perform his promise to protect, provide and rescue his own that believe him according to his Word. He has not only empowered us, He is with us, and He will back us! In Matthew 28:20, Jesus declared, “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world.”Psalm 91:2,11 declares, “I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God in whom I trust…For he has given his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.”

Refuse to Entertain Fear or Panic

Isaiah 41:10 declares, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee. Be not dismayed for I am you God. I will strengthen thee, yea, I will help the, yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” The Message Bible declares, “Don’t panic. I am with you. There’s no need to fear for I’m your God. I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you. I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you.” One of Satan’s greatest weapons formed against believers is the spirit of fear. We must never entertain or yield to fear! Nilolas Berdyaev once said, “Fear is never a good counselor and victory over fear is the first spiritual duty of man.” Martin Luther King once said, “Courage faces fear and thereby masters it. Cowardice represses fear and is thereby mastered by it.” Nothing will steal faith quicker than allowing Satan to use unfavorable circumstances to control and dominate our thinking. Never yield to fear. Resist it in Jesus’ name. Command fear to depart from you and your path! The greater one lives in you!(1 John 4:4) You will not fail because God will not fail you. Stop allowing natural circumstances to control you. Trust God always. He is your strength, your source, your protector and provider. You are safe in Christ Jesus.

Trust Completely in God Alone

Psalm 91:2 declares, “I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.” The Message Bible declares, “Say this: ‘God, you’re my refuge. I trust in you and I’m safe.'” John G. Lake once said, “Quit sweating, quit wrestling. It is not trying but trusting.” Augustine of Hippo once said, “Trust the past to God’s mercy, the present to his love, the future to God’s providence.” C.H. Spurgeon declared, “Trust Jesus, and you are saved, trust self, and you are lost.” Psalm 146:3 declares, “Put not your trust in princes.” We are not to place our trust in government or man, but totally in God Almighty! Proverbs 3:5-6 declares, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make straight your path.” Placing our complete trust in God in uncertain times will keep us safe and in peace! Determine to trust him now.

We love you and appreciate you greatly. Thank you for your love and support to our lives and ministry. The best is yet to come for those who put their trust in him completely.
