He Is the Reason for Living

by Chris D'Amico

It is amazing that another year is coming to a close. Yet what a tremendous year it has been in the presence of the Lord. We have seen lives impacted by the Word of God. And the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit is all across this great nation. Lives have been changed and progress has been made. This is all a result of the redemptive work of Christ over two thousand years ago. Isaiah 9:6 declares, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulders: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.” The Knox Translation declares, “For our sakes a child is born, to our race a son is given, whose shoulder will bear the scepter of princely power.” Lives are being supernaturally transformed because for our sakes a child, the Son of God, was born to bear the sins of the world!

The Government of Dominion on His Shoulders
Jesus came not only to bear the sins of the world, but also to bear the symbol of dominion on his shoulders. The New English Bible declares, “For a boy has been born for us, a son given to us to bear the symbol of dominion on his shoulders.” Jesus came to regain supernatural dominion back for mankind by bearing the sins of the world. He shouldered the burden of man’s sins and carried them to the Cross, to Hell and back again. Then through the resurrection, he triumphed as the King of kings and Lord of lords! He was born for our sakes to conquer death, Hell, and the grave, restoring authority to mankind over all satanic powers holding us in sin. Heaven’s government reestablished dominion in the hearts of mankind through new birth in Christ Jesus!

Christ Stripped Evil Forces of Their Power Over Man
Colossians 2:15 declares, “And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” Barclays Translation declares, “On the Cross he stripped the demon powers and authorities of their power, and made a public spectacle of them, as if they had been captives in a victor’s triumphal procession.” The Greber Translation declares, “He had disarmed the powers and authorities of Hell, exposing them to open disgrace, and triumphed over them in the person of Christ.” This great redemptive triumph came as a result of the sacrifice of the only begotten Son of God. He gave back dominion and authority over Satan and evil forces. In the person of Christ, evil forces were stripped of their power over man. Men and women in Christ are no longer victims but victors. They now operate under a new government. This new world order is subject to the conquering King Jesus Christ!

Being Raised Up with Christ
Colossians 3:1 declares, “If then you have been risen with Christ, seek those things which are above where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.” The NAB says, “Since you have been raised up in the company with Christ, set your heart on what pertains to higher realms where Christ is seated at God’s right hand.” Cotton Patch Translation tells us, “So then, if you have been given new life in Christ, go after the things of the new order, in which Christ rules with God’s authority.” Because the Son was given, in Christ we are now raised up in company with him. This new life in Christ positions us with him in the heavenlies, at the right hand of God the Father. We have been raised up to rule in this earth with God’s authority. In Christ we are the offspring of God, His children raised up to reign in Christ’s delegated power. He did it all and he is now called Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace! Jesus in not only the reason for the season, but the reason for living.

Thank God for our sakes, a child was born! And thank you so very much for your gracious support and love toward this ministry. We appreciate you greatly and believe for His best always.
